This blog uses a few services to understand readership and let people stay in touch.
- Visits and analytics. Cloudflare hosts the site and supplies traffic analytics. The site also loads Google Analytics. Requests to these services include browser and network information. Their handling of this information is described in the Cloudflare privacy policy and Google privacy policy.
- Comments. Remark42 loads when you select Show Comments. Comments you submit are public; the service also handles the identity you use to sign in.
- Contact messages. The contact form sends your name, email address, and message to Formlander so I can receive and respond to it. Cloudflare Turnstile checks the submission for abuse.
- Email subscriptions. listmonk stores your subscription details and manages newsletter email. Subscribing shares your email address with that service. Use the subscription links in your emails to unsubscribe.
- Reading preferences. Font, reading layout, and colour choices are saved in your browser’s local storage so they can be remembered on your next visit.
Embedded media, such as YouTube videos, can also make requests to their providers when a page loads or you interact with them.
